At the DogPLAYce we believe in a holistic approach to
caring for our dog friends that encompasses the needs of the whole dog; from
their food, to their health, to their state of mind. We are committed to providing a healthy, safe
place for your dog(s) to stay while making it as fun and non-stressful as
possible.
The DogPLAYce does not require vaccines be given every
year. We believe many dogs are
over-vaccinated and that dogs receive lifelong immunity from puppy-hood
vaccinations. We do require a copy of
your dog’s rabies certificate, which by law must be updated every three
years. If you have any questions about
vaccinations, please feel free to ask or visit this website for more
information: Updated
Vaccination Protocols.
Please pay special attention to the health of your dog before
boarding with us and make sure he/she is healthy and free from the following:
- Kennel
cough
- Skin,
ear, eye or dental infections.
- Diarrhea
- Fleas,
lice or any external parasites.
- Internal
parasites (puppies under 6 months or dogs with diarrhea must have stool
checked prior to boarding to prevent contamination of the grounds).
Make an appointment with your vet if you are unsure about your
dog’s health prior to boarding, and get appropriate treatment for any
conditions that exist. Please do not
vaccinate your dog within a week of boarding.
This is in case of any adverse reactions your dog may have. Also, please do not apply external flea
medications the day you drop off your dogs, as this may spread insecticide
residue to other dogs and surroundings.
Bring with you
- Food: Please provide your dog’s own food
because we believe you should not change your dog’s diet, especially when
boarding. The DogPLAYce supplies
bowls for food and water. We can
accommodate your dog’s special diet such as raw (a refrigerator is
available), special medications including homeopathy, etc.
- Bedding: The DogPLAYce
supplies bedding or you may bring your dog’s own bedding from home, as
long as it is machine washable and expendable. We can not guarantee its return in
original condition. We highly
encourage you to bring something that smells like you (ex. A worn tee,
sock, etc.), to make your dog more comfortable in their new environment.
- Paperwork: A copy of
your rabies certificate (required by law).
Rules
- For
the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, The DogPLAYce accepts only happy, friendly, non-aggressive
dogs that are well socialized and do
not bark excessively. All dogs
must be pre-screened prior to boarding.
Please call or email to set an appointment for a visit.
- During
flea season (April – October) all dogs must be on a flea and tick preventative
program (such as Frontline, Advantage or Advantix)
- All
dogs must be spayed or neutered (except for puppies under 9 months old).
- All
dogs must be brought into and taken out of the facility on a leash.
- All
drop offs and pick ups are by appointment only. Please be sure to arrive at your
